VICTORY FOR THE FAKO PEOPLE: THE CDC LAND TRANSFER HAS BEEN CANCELLED!

By Dr. David Makongo ·

In my earlier Facebook post, I condemned the suspected foul play surrounding the transfer of CDC lands and called for the investigation of the SDO of Fako and the Governor of the South-West Region. I followed this with a signed petition to the Secretary-General at the Presidency, requesting immediate intervention and an investigation.

Today, we celebrate! The Government has acted swiftly and decisively to annul the transfer after documents used to justify it were declared false.

I sincerely thank the Secretary-General at the Presidency and the Government for listening and acting promptly.

This cancellation must now be followed by a transparent public investigation and judicial proceedings against every administrative official, individual or association suspected of involvement. Accountability is essential to restoring confidence in our state institutions.

No administrative decision is beyond lawful opposition—regardless of the political leader you worship or the party uniform you wear.

I do not write this post to claim victory for myself. Many people fought this battle independently and deserve our congratulations and appreciation: the population, traditional chiefs, elites from Fako and the North-West, elites from the Western Region, and members of the diaspora. This is our collective victory.

We must now organize ourselves better and establish a united, lawful front to defend our common rights.

This land belongs to the Fako people. Every inch illegally taken remains recoverable. Our peaceful and nonviolent journey to reclaim our lands and restore our rights has only just begun!

FAKO HAS SPOKEN—AND PEACEFUL ACTION HAS DELIVERED RESULTS!
